Visual music
There are four factors which make for the success of a production music library: outstanding artistic quality, technical perfection, a target-group-specific catalogue, and a defined visual identity. The latter has always been a crucial aspect of UBM’s company policy. In contrast to the often rather uninspired packaging of most library music, the cover artwork of UBM releases is characterized by a high standard of aesthetics and careful design. This illustrates the great appreciation of a type of music that has long ago emancipated itself and is now understood as a distinct creative field.
Uwe Buschkötter’s enthusiasm for memorable photographs led to a collaboration with the creative director Karl F. Schöfmann in 1985. Since then, Schöfmann’s original photos have shaped UBM’s unique appearance and contributed to its overall quality.
