Ady Cohen

Music runs in Ady Cohen’s family: Almost all of his relatives play with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. Cohen’s own first compositions impressed Leonard Bernstein who became his mentor and supported Cohen’s studies in New York. Subsequently, Cohen composed countless scores for motion pictures, TV productions, plays and ballets. He has received numerous awards, most notably the prize for best film music (Dangerous Acts, 1998) from the Academy of Israel. Until today, Ady Cohen has composed, arranged and recorded the music for more than 30 movies in the US and in Israel. His newest passion are animated films. Besides compositions for children’s TV stations worldwide, he also composed the music for animated movies such as A Sunny Day (SWR, 2007) or Wollmond (2009), directed by Gil Alkabetz.
