Ralv Gielen's artistic concern is the creation of new sounds. Born in Duisburg in 1960, he started out by learning to play the piano. Soon he became interested in composing, which he then studied autodidactically. Gielen was especially fascinated by the possibilities of electronic music. In fact, he considers the electronic arts his actual field, naming Brian Eno, Biosphere aka Geir Jensen, Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze and Cliff Martinez as his influences. As a composer he is mostly working for the ad and TV industry. His speciality is sound design which generates specific images, emotions and atmospheres. He has also contributed to various pop productions (among other with Marla Glen, G-Squad, Bernie Blanks, Peter Thomas and F.R.David).
