
150th anniversary of Charles Dickens' death
150 years ago, on June 9, 1870, the English writer Charles Dickens died at his Gads Hill Place estate in Higham near Rochester. His most famous works include the novels David Copperfield, and Great Expectations. He is also known for Oliver Twist, A Story from Two Cities and A Christmas Carol.
