Escaping the city
In 2014, for the first time, more people moved away from Berlin, Hamburg and the five other largest German cities than arrived. This trend continues to this day. There are many reasons for people fleeing the city: rising rents, overcrowded inner cities or the longing for more peace and clarity are all part of it. In contrast to this are problems such as the aging of entire regions or the relocation of companies from rural areas. Photo by Karsten Würth on Unsplash
