October 04, 2020: Start of the international space week
The beginning of the International Space Week takes place annually on October 4th. The United Nations (UN) launched the International Space Week in 1999. During Space Week there are actions and educational events around the world. International Space Week commemorates two historic events in space travel, October 4, 1957, Sputnik's first manned space flight, and October 10, 1967, the coming into effect of the Space Treaty.
