October 16, 2020: World Food Day
On October 16, World Food Day, a reminder is to be given that an incredible number of people are still suffering from hunger: According to the 2018 UN Nutrition Report, around 821 million people worldwide are chronically undernourished. That is eleven percent of the world's population. Around two billion also suffer from "hidden hunger", the lack of essential nutrients. “We can make a difference!” Is the motto of this year's “Welthungerhilfe Week” from October 11th to 18th, 2020.
